World

Reath is the world of Heaven's Reaver. The world has evolved both parallel and opposite Earth. Its culture is hodgepodge of many dimensions and time periods. While many achievements are beyond Earth, just same many are thousands of years behind.

A select number of people that study Reath claim it absorbs contradictions and anomalies. Others argue that Reath runs on a logic known only to its creator or creators. Let it never be said that the intellectual community is capable of agreeing.

Reath Tech

The technology level of people depends on both their race and location. Elves have a large hold information and technology such as computers. However Katran capital city, the royal retreats and certain highly placed Katrans have access to working plumbing and electricity. Elven and Katran sewage systems are the most functional and advanced on the continent.

The remainder of the populace, including the Centurak, relies on magic. As such, they are less technologically savvy.

Science and magic have always been at odds. Many times Reath has been on the verge of a breakthrough in technology or a wide acceptance of modern science. If such were to occur, Reath would surpass Earth scientifically.

Electricity always will be a renewable resource. Reath is an eco-friendly world. Although the sun and wind are the most common source of electricity, many coastal villages utilize the ocean for their hydro-electric systems.

Automobiles and airplanes do not exist on Reath. Thus transportation is usually done by walking.

Geography

Reath is relatively small with only two landmasses and a handful of scattered islands.

The largest landmass contains both the Katran and Centurakian territories.

The other landmass is roughly the size of Australia and lies south east of the larger landmass. It is considered an island, not continent.

Numerous smaller islands dot the globe but are not yet notable to the story. Their inhabitants are not interested or involved with the politics of the mainland.

Species

The main races of Reath are the Katra and Centurak. Elves and humans are less populous and all other races even less. Temperament s depend on the individual not their race. It is ones culture that differs.

Katra

Katra are a matriarchal cat-like species. They possess foot long claws capable of cutting through flesh and bone. Their mouths contain razor-sharp fangs. Both claws and fangs are retractable. They also have cat ears and tail. Despite their drinking of blood, Katrans are a peaceful race compared to men.

Hair is usually black, brown or white. Katran have an extreme range of eye colors; but when their eyes turn red, it is a warning sign to run. The best way to tell a full-blooded Katra and one half or less is the skin. Full-blooded Katra have fur-like markings such as spots and stripes.

Attire consists of loose clothing, designed more for movement than covering. Easily offended people might object to how little Katran clothing covers.

Katra are the only race to consider sword dancing as their favorite party game. It consists of throwing swords while performing intricate flips in the air.

Centurak

Centurak are a humanoid species, notable for their pure white wings. They have blonde or black hair and always blue eyes. The similarity to angels stops a looks. Their personalities are not warm and loving. A javelin or axe is usually their weapon of choice. Younger males commonly wield a flaming sword.

Centurak culture is stricter and less forgiving than Katran. They wear long flowing robes that cover everything. Energy is their food source.

Centurak do not have surnames. Thus Alluvienne is only known as Alluvienne and Rem carries her mother's last name.

Others

In addition the four races, many others inhabit Reath. Centaurs, dragons, shape-shifters, trolls, gargoyles, phoenixes, giants, mermaids, incubus, succubus, garisks, horses, rabbits, wolves, dire wolves, demons and creatures or demon-like nature are examples of such.

Vampire

Vampires are the only race not native to Reath. While similar creatures do inhabit Reath, vampires are the only ones without beating hearts and with abilities such as hypnotism, teleportation, eternal youth and a weakness to sun and wood combined. To date, few vampires have stepped foot on Reath. Hatori is the most recent and longest staying.
